HUB Cycling is a charitable non-profit society that works to get more people cycling for transportation, more often. We are based in Metro Vancouver where we provide education in schools, community centres and workplaces, action to make cycling conditions better, and events like Bike to Work Week.
I’ve travelled extensively across this wonderful province both by car and by airplane and as winter approaches I got to thinking about the pros and cons of both alternatives. On the face of it flying is quicker but more expensive, and driving is slower and less expensive. But is that all there is to it?

I was watching Planes, Trains and Automobiles, starring Steve Martin and John Candy, recently and was struck by how important it was for these two completely different Americans to get home for Thanksgiving – more so I think than if they had been Canadians (I realize Candy was actually born in Canada).
