We’re New…. Well Kinda
August 7th, 2012
For Immediate release
Taking a good look into the mirror
Travelling in British Columbia this summer never looked so good
August 07, 2012, Victoria, BC – Accent Inns’ easy-to-spot, iconic blue roofs haven’t changed, but just about everything beneath them has– from the renovated exteriors, updates to the interiors of all five properties — and a very cool change in the brand image and story.
Now sporting refreshed exteriors in shades of, taupe, grey and green, entrance pillars refinished in natural stone and glass balconies to open up the views, Accent Inns has a warmer, more welcoming West Coast feel and is working harder than ever to live their new “stay local, stay real” tag line.
“As we finished our renovations late last year, we felt it was time to check in and see what our potential customers thought of Accent Inns,” says Mandy Farmer, president of Accent Inns. “The focus group results were shocking. Going by our name and look, many people thought we were an American owned run of the mill chain. For a company that is owned and operated by a BC family, we were heart broken. It was time to become better at telling and living our brand story.”
We are boastfully BC
For 26 years, Accent Inns has been owned and operated by the father-daughter team of Terry and Mandy Farmer. Accent Inns has five BC hotel locations: Victoria; Richmond; Burnaby; Kamloops; and Kelowna. At each of these locations, travellers will be taken care of by some of the friendliest staff north of Disneyland and enjoy spotlessly clean rooms and comfortable beds.
We’ll tell you where to go
Accent Inns’ staff are local knowledge experts and are happy to tell guests where to go to get the most out of each destination.
They know some of the best local places to shop, dine, and explore with an emphasis on the non-traditional or “where the locals go” places. The new Accent Inns website is currently being updated with many of these secret locations and watch for some fun special offers. New name tags have been created that not only tell guests a staff members name, but also their favourite activity, to spark conversations ( ie. Mandy Farmer –bike lover).
Have we got a deal for you
Accent Inns has five ideal locations in BC to help guests attend the concerts and events, visit family and friends, compete or watch that amateur sporting tournament, all without breaking the bank. For example, guests attending a concert or event can visit the website and check-out the Accent Inns “show your ticket and save deal”. Guests showing their ticket of an approved venue at check in can save $10 Cdn off the Best Available Rate. The discount is limited to one ticket per room. Additionally, Accent Inns offers coupons for BC Ferries travellers , specials for attractions like the Butchart Gardens in Victoria, The BC Wildlife park in Kamloops and more. They’re even working with the brand new Wild Play Element park in Kelowna. And, in order to provide added value to guest, Accent Inns doesn’t charge for services such as wireless internet, local phone calls and parking.
We welcome the whole family – including the furry ones (and we don’t mean your Uncle Fred)
Accent Inns understands that family vacations can be an adventure, especially if everyone is crammed into a small space for an extended period of time. That’s why the hotels offer families who need a little extra room a Family Package, giving them 50 per cent off an adjoining room (that get’s you two bathrooms…how cool). And, it’s not a family holiday without the whole family – so Accent Inns has designated pet rooms available. Guests who stay four nights with their pet will have the pet fee waived for the fifth night. Pet nights don’t need to be consecutive and can be accumulated throughout the company’s five locations.
We think bicycles are loveable.
Accent Inns’ Bike Love program makes them the bike-friendliest hotel chain in BC. Whether guests are long-distance touring cyclists, mountain bikers, or just bringing their bike on vacation, their bicycles are welcome at every Accent Inn. Guests can ask for a bike-friendly room when they make their reservation. Bike Love includes: ground floor rooms guests can store their bikes in; a bicycle wash and tuning station with a professional-grade bike stand and advanced tool kit; rags for cleaning their bike after a day’s adventure; and a laundry room in case it’s not just their bike that needs a wash.
“We are so excited to be showing BC residents and visitors alike that we are BC born and raised, that we offer programs to accommodate all types of travellers, that we believe in having fun (tell us your best joke when you check-in) and that we can give them the inside scoop on the things to do and see at each of our locations,” says Mandy Farmer. “In fact, travellers should keep an eye out for our new site coming out this fall called Experience Local – it will provide local insight on a range of activities all at guests’ fingertips.”
We celebrate BC & you could win!
BC Day is all about celebrating beautiful British Columbia. We think that feeling should be more than just one day so to celebrate the province we call home and the adventures that await guests in each community, Accent Inns is giving away a grand prize consisting of four nights across BC, and an experience for four in each location. (The Celebrate BC & Win contest link can be found on the new Accent Inns website https://accentinns.com or on their facebook page, at http://www.facebook.com/AccentInn
