Terry Farmer Tours Okanagan Wineries!

September 29th, 2011

Terry Farmer likes a nice wine!

Well Leslie & I just completed our annual wine tasting (and purchases) and it was just as enjoyable as in previous years.
We only spent 2 nights this time and stayed of course at the Accent Inn Kelowna and enjoyed some really nice meals at the ABC Restaurant,  located at the hotel.

We did the art and specialty galleries in Kelowna, plus wine shops and then preceded to the Naramata Wineries on the second day, returning to Kelowna for the evening.
We did the Osoyoos and Oliver wineries on our 3rd day, on our way back to the coast.

Chef Rod Butters at Raudz

A couple of changes this time.  We had an excellent dinner at Raudz in Kelowna (the owner Rod Butters was the Executive Chef at the Wickaninnish Inn in Tofino before moving  to Kelowna ). The Raudz is a casual and perhaps trendy restaurant with excellent food and staff.    One of our favourites is the dining room at the Quail’s Gate Winery (you do need reservations). You will have a wonderful meal and the views from all the tables, and a beautiful view of the vineyard.

Make sure to visit the Arrowleaf Winery

We also included a couple of new wineries such as the Arrowleaf (outside of Vernon)-  this is owned by Joe & Margrit Zuppiger who immigrated from Switzerland, where their son Manuel trained as a winemaker, great family vineyard.  Sandhill in Kelowna, Lake Breeze in Naramata

We loved the wineries that we visited so much that we ended up purchasing 4 ½ cases, plus 30 lbs of peaches for canning & jam.

We highly recommend that you make the trip to the beautiful Okanagan.

Make sure to reserve your room at the Accent Inn Kelowna or Accent Inn Kamloops hotel early and enjoy your own wine tour adventure!
