Cruise Out of Vancouver, A Great Deal!

July 10th, 2015

Take a cruise out of Vancouver BC

I was looking the other day at what cruises were offered out of Vancouver and was surprised to learn there’s a lot. My wife and I took an Alaskan cruise a few years ago but I had no idea of the size of the cruise industry here. In 2014, 29 cruise ships called into Port Metro Vancouver 243 times carrying more than 812,000 passengers. This year they are looking at a similar, if not better season.

TripAdvisor’s Editor’s Choice Awards selected Vancouver BC as the top homeport in North America in 2013, so if you’re considering taking a cruise you might want to check out what Vancouver has to offer. Fifteen cruise lines sail from Vancouver offering ships of all sizes and types from Disney for the kids to ultimate luxury with Silversea cruises.

The fifteen cruise lines using Vancouver are: Carnival Cruise Lines; Celebrity Cruises; Compagnie du Ponant; Crystal Cruises; Disney Cruise Line; Hapag-Lloyd Cruises; Holland America Line; Noble Caledonia; Norwegian Cruise Line; NYK Cruises; Oceania Cruises; Princess Cruises; Regent Seven Seas Cruises; Royal Caribbean International; Silversea Cruises.

Repositioning cruises are a great way to get a deal – the shortest least expensive are in the spring and fall on ships leaving out of Vancouver or Seattle (in the spring leaving from Vancouver and in the fall from Seattle). There are also Pacific Coastal cruises which either leave from Vancouver and travel to California, or vice versa.

Longer itineraries include repositioning cruises from Vancouver to Australia and the Panama Canal (to the Caribbean). For a full schedule of repositioning cruises visit: http://www.repositioncruises.com/repositioning-cruises-vancouver/.

I always new Accent Inns – Vancouver Airport location offered a shuttle to and from Vancouver Airport but I recently discovered that they also offer a special package for cruisers which includes a night’s accommodation at either their Richmond, or Burnaby locations and one way transportation for 2 people to or from the pier. As this includes up to 25-nights free parking, it’s a deal too good to pass up.

I can’t talk about cruise ships without mentioning Victoria BC where over 400,000 passengers visited in 2014 , with over 200 cruise ships

BC Ferries, one of the best trips you’ll ever take

Oh, and for something closer to home don’t forget BC Ferries seven-night Inside Passage Coastal Adventure – it’s not strictly speaking a cruise because you stay in hotels at night, but you do get two-days sailing the inside passage north and south and experience the stunning views and wildlife.

CALL 1-800-663-0298 and ask for the Stay Park’n Cruise Package or email Accent Inns at [email protected].
