Arthritis is a Monster

September 1st, 2015

Arthritis SocietyNot only is it a monster, but an invisible one.

September is Arthritis Awareness Month and #ArthritisIsAMonster is The Arthritis Society, BC & Yukon Division’s new awareness campaign – thanks for noticing!  Accent Inns and The Arthritis Society, BC & Yukon Division are community partners, and we want to do everything we can to expose the monster through the #ArthritisIsAMonster awareness campaign.

The reality is that more often than not, arthritis is an invisible disability. Unfortunately, arthritis is the villain that plays in the lives of over 650,000 children and adults living in BC.  It can affect anyone at any time, regardless of age, ethnicity or gender, and there are over 100 different kinds of arthritis including gout, lupus and scleroderma.  Arthritis is the “bad guy” that can affect mobility, limit a career, steal a childhood and change a life.  The Arthritis Society, BC & Yukon Division continues to work hard to make a difference in the lives of those fighting arthritis.  Through research, education and the development of new treatments, they are getting closer to catching the monster.

Be a hero to the story and spread awareness with us through the #ArthritisIsAMonster campaign during the month of September.  Share this information and image on social media – and be sure to use the hashtag #ArthritisIsAMonster with every tweet and post!  More images and facts to come, so be sure to watch for them and follow @AccentInns @arthritisbc
