Island Fisherman supports Accent Inns' "Fish for the Future"

As the excitement around Accent Inns new Fish for the Future program starts to mount, we are thrilled that one of the most qualified sport and recreational fishing experts would take interest in Accent Inns.  Larry E. Stefanyk, founder and publisher of Island Fisherman Magazine and the Producer of the Vancouver Island Outdoor Adventure Expo wrote a great piece in his last issue of Island Fisherman Magazine. Check out the article in the September issue in the Hook line and thinkers column (love the title larry).

Larry has long been a supporter of both the Freshwater fisheries society of BC and the Pacific Salmon Foundation.

New Accent Inns ‘Fish for the Future’ program supports British Columbia’s natural environment

Victoria, B.C. – Accent Inns hotels has just launched a new program that will see to the long-term viability of British Columbia’s natural resources, as they continue to fulfill their vision of supporting local groups that strive towards improving the B.C. environment.

“Building business and building community truly go hand-in-hand,” said Accent Inns CEO Mandy Farmer. “And in launching ‘Fish for the Future’ program, we’re showing that it’s possible for every one of us to make a positive difference in our world – a core value held by Accent Inns.”

The program, underway this month, is simple to support. For each guest who stays at any one of the BC hotel’s locations and shows a valid freshwater or salt water fishing license, Accent Inns will donate $2.00. Accent Inns ‘Fish for the Future’ partners are: Freshwater Fisheries Society of B.C. and Pacific Salmon Foundation. In addition, the Accent Inns Vancouver Airport hotel also has supporting services for the fishing enthusiasts with free shuttle service to the South Terminal / float plane terminal for the ‘fly-in’ fisherman as well as providing freezer service. Silver Medal Winner part of the Accent Inns Family

This July Alex Fraser, son of the famous Julia Fraser (Regional Sales Manager for Accent Inns Kelowna and Kamloops) won a silver medal at the BC Summer Games in Langley. Alex played for the Thompson-Okanagan Team which finished 1st in their pool which earned them a semi-final game against Vancouver Island. In the semi-final game, they defeated Vancouver Island 8-7 (tough for Accent Inn Victoria staff routing for the Vancouver Island team). “It was a thrilling game and it was probably the best the Thompson-Okanagan Team has ever played”, said Julia Fraser, Regional Sales Manager and proud Mom. In the Championship Final for the Gold, they lost a heartbreaker to Fraser River/Delta 6-3 (a tough loss for our Accent Inn Vancouver Airport staff)

“Iron Man” Alex Fraser played all 5 games, pitched and played first base.

Recently Mandy Farmer,  President of the Accent Inn BC Hotel Chain put together a team of Head Office staff  to support and participate in the Power to Play Adventure race.  Several Accent Inns,  staff being the big family that we are, decided to help raise money for the cause with the benefit that if we made our fundraising goal,  Terry Farmer Founder and Chairman of Accent Inns  would spend time cleaning rooms.
